We have the return of the harsh S sounds, as well as harsh high end in the percussion. I do like the call and response of the vocals. Overall mix is dull, and lifeless. Good lyrics, and a decent performance. Fun, playful lead guitar part that is quite possibly the best thing happening in the song. I do like the structure.

This is one of the best Micah songs I've ever heard, the lyrics are sweet and melancholy and a really inspired take on the challenge. I love your two vocals together and the little guitar hooks are devilishly catchy. Nothing really to critique, your mix could certainly be clearer / punchier but it has a warmth to it that suits the song. This is excellent.

Ooh a balanced vocal mix. This song is pretty charming, Johnny & June flavors. I like the take, very clever, and that part of it is well executed. Can we talk about the solo for a moment? I am of the school that thinks instrumental solos should tell stories. This solo starts out well with a good lead-in phrase and answer, but when you get to the second half, I think something needs to happen. Too much stays the same—pacing, neck position, playing techniques and feel—and as a result the solo just sort of sits there and doesn’t come to a climax and resolve. For some reason in this round there were a number of unfulfilling solos, and I’m writing about it here, but it’s not just you. It’s just in this case, I feel like a really well crafted solo would’ve taken this song up an extra notch.

Love this concept, too. A mournful song that isnt a break up! Also not very sad musically, but it still feels sad. The guest sounds great, but you can hear her room, and it’s very different from yours. Might have adjusted we to make them match a little better. Needs a music video.
