Call and Response with a guest vocalist that you've never collaborated with before

Once More With Feeling
By The Friends
featuring Christine Mcallister

Did you do it again?
Or did you fall back asleep
I listen out for a friend
You went away in a dream
Once more with feeling
Tired of reeling again

And I'm looking to see
(what's hiding invisibly)
and I'm hoping to find
(what's lurking somewhere inside)
and I'm looking for a gold mine
(on every corner)
before it slips away

Getting lost every night
Forgetting something to eat
I’m reaching out for a friend
Nobodies listening to me
No one’s believing
Once more with feeling

So I'm looking for that gold mine
(on every corner)
somehow hoping to see
(you hiding invisibly)
I remember every time
(even the quiet moments)
(before you slipped away)

Familiar feeling
creeping in here again
once more with feeling

I rather like the sparse intro/first part. It makes the impact of the full arrangement hit all the harder. And the brief outro makes a nice bookend. The acoustic sounds good and I love the layered vox. The call and response is nicely done. The almost tentative vocals sound vulnerable and appropriate to the story. Just when I was wanting something to change it kicks in. The bass sounds good, too. Did I mention I like the arrangement?
