you work all day to get paid
you put your money away
yeah you save

you pay your rent, but you can't
live the way that you want
so you save

waiting for the day
you find a piece of land
then with the deed in hand
you’ll be ready
for the architect

for the house of your dreams
he draws up the plans
then you build

but there's something in his eyes
a sadness he can't hide
when you build

he sees it every day
on every piece of land
washed away like sand
it isn’t special
for the architect
